Welcome new (and not-so-new) ELCE bloggers
John H Monday 5th January, AD 2009
Talking of Tapani Simojoki (see previous post), he is now blogging under the name SimonPotamos. His first “proper” post takes an interesting look at “praying the Catechism”, and in particular at how to pray the Lord’s Prayer is also to pray the Commandments and the Creed:
1st petition: Our Father who art in heaven
1st commandment: I am the Lord your God2nd petition: Hallowed be Thy name
2nd commandments: Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God3rd petition: Thy kingdom come
3rd commandments: Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy4th petition: Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
4th-10th commandments: Love your neighbour as yourself5th petition: Give us this day our daily bread
1st article: I believe in God … the maker of heaven & earth6th petition: And forgive us our trespasses…
2nd article: And in Jesus Christ … was crucified, died … and rose again7th petition: And lead us not into temptation but deliver…
3rd article: And in the Holy Spirit.
And J. Random Hermeneut makes (yet) another welcome return to the blogosphere, with a blog that shows the power both of bash scripting and Johann Sebastian Bach.
